MMIX Tachileik is the border node of the Myanmar Internet Exchange, which the association runs across Yangon, Mandalay, Tachileik and Muse. Tachileik sits opposite Mae Sai on the Thai frontier, and the node's purpose is regional: the operator states it connects onward to Thailand IX and to overseas content through Global Technology Company Limited's gateway, so it serves both the eastern Shan State border economy and a route to Thai and international content that would otherwise transit Yangon. Five participants sit on 103.185.105.0/27 with 2001:df3:1300:4::/64, every port at 10G for 50G of capacity, all on an open policy, in the Long Mao data centre.

Getting connected
Members must hold a public autonomous system number registered with the appropriate registry — private numbers are refused — and keep accurate whois records. Each Principal or Institutional member subscribes to at least one port. Access is enforced by MAC address filtering, so only subscribed peers' addresses pass. Members supply their own transceivers and patch cords; media converters are not permitted. Three forms are required: a member application, a port application signed by the applicant's technical head, and a prefix request for additional numbers or prefixes
