OMNIconnect owns the building it sells racks in: 14 Elite Way, Carrum Downs, about 35 km south-east of the Melbourne CBD and a minute off EastLink. Prices are published rather than quoted - A$129 per rack unit a month, A$999 for a full rack, with power metered separately at A$33 per 100 W on the monthly average and A$66 per 100 W over it, all before GST. High-density racks are supported to 15 kW. A rooftop solar array is stated to cover the whole IT load at peak, backed by diesel generators holding 5,000 litres of fuel, and both the power and the cooling paths are redundant. Access is escorted around the clock under biometric and RFID control, hands and eyes are included during business hours, and the availability commitment is 99.99% with rebates. OMNIconnect has traded since 6 April 2000 and has held a carrier licence since 1997, selling transit over its own fibre and wireless network with Telstra available to 10 Gbps.
