Microsoft names its three Melbourne datacentres after the streets they stand on - Garden Drive, Cawley Road and Woods Road - and this is the Garden Drive one, at 70-90 Garden Drive in Tullamarine, the only one in the Melbourne Airport corridor rather than the western industrial belt. BESIX Watpac turned the first sod on 5 December 2022, with Kapitol Group also named as a general contractor across the three sites, and major construction finished in early 2025. An adjoining Tullamarine property of 6.55 hectares was added during 2025. Floor area, IT capacity, grid connection and water draw are absent from both the operator's material and Hume City Council's planning agendas.
