Safaricom Kisumu Data Centre
Kiboswa-Daraja Mbili Road, Kisumu, 66827-00800, KE
Kisumu, on Lake Victoria in western Kenya, is the third of Safaricom's Kenyan data-centre locations after Thika and Nairobi, and it doubles as the disaster-recovery site for the Nairobi halls. Safaricom Wholesale sells from it: caged space, white space, whole or partial cabinets, single servers, bare metal, remote hands, and a meet-me room where the carriers terminate. Reach into the site comes over a mix of optical ground wire strung on power lines, terrestrial fibre and wireless links. Physical security runs to a perimeter wall with an electric fence, biometric access control, round-the-clock monitoring and on-site engineering support. The published electrical specification - a dual supply rated 2000 kVA with standby generators - and the room for 224 standard ETSI racks describe the estate rather than this building; the road it stands on is Kiboswa-Daraja Mbili Road.
