IREN Sweetwater 2

Sweetwater 2 is the second phase of IREN's West Texas campus, on more than 500 acres near Hamlin in Fisher County - Sweetwater is the market name the operator uses, and the town it is named for lies in the next county. A binding grid connection agreement signed on 17 March 2025 covers 600 MW, taking the two-phase campus to 2,000 MW across 2,200 acres alongside Sweetwater 1's 1,400 MW and IREN's West Texas total to 2.75 GW. Power comes straight off ERCOT through a 1,400 MW bulk substation at 345 kV and 138 kV, stepping down through 138/34.5 kV primary substations. Energization is planned for 2027; Sweetwater 1 energized in April 2026 and connected its high-voltage substation the month after. Direct-to-chip liquid cooling is planned for the halls.
