CyrusOne CHI2 – Aurora

CHI2 is the second building on CyrusOne's 16-acre Aurora campus at 2905 Diehl Road, a 425,000 sq ft shell that broke ground in December 2016 on land bought from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange that March and came into service in 2017. Its first data hall holds 77,000 sq ft of colocation at 16 MW of critical load, and a further 165,000 sq ft and 42 MW inside CHI2 were scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2022. The campus as a whole carries 114 MW across 450,000 sq ft of technical space, cooled by air-cooled chiller plants of 800 tons at N+2 per data hall with free cooling below 30°F and no water used for cooling. CHI1 and CHI2 hold Green Globes 3 Globes certification, which CHI3, finished in 2024, does not. Nine networks and two internet exchanges meet on the campus. Buyers take cabinets, cages or a dedicated hall in CHI2 alongside the site's financial-market tenants.
