Equinix Chicago is Equinix's exchange fabric across the CH1, CH2 and CH4 buildings and CH3 in Elk Grove Village, extending into Digital Realty's 350 East Cermak, the Midwest's flagship carrier hotel. 250 networks (Aug 2026) put 23.9 Tbps of capacity on the fabric, second only to Ashburn among Equinix metros, with a heavy content profile: Hurricane Electric aggregates 1.2T, the largest single member commitment on the platform, while Netflix and Valve each run 800G and Akamai 700G. Ports are orderable at 1G, 10G and 100G, with member aggregates in use to 400G. Redundant MLPE route servers under AS24115 apply IRR and RPKI filtering. Connection requires colocation in a Chicago-metro IBX, ordered through the Equinix Customer Portal with the cross-connect included.
