About CyIX
CyIX is the national exchange point of Cyprus, established in 1999 by the Cyprus Institute of Technology with three founding members — Cytanet, LogosNet and CyLink, the last later absorbed into PrimeTel. It is presented today by CYNET, the Cyprus research and academic network, which describes it as the national exchange, set up to improve connectivity across the island by letting providers, content networks and data centres exchange traffic directly rather than hauling it off-island, and it has been housed in CYNET facilities for over a decade. Three networks connect for 60 Gbps, with CYTA on 30 Gbps. The peering LAN is 193.22.30.0/24 and no participant runs IPv6.
