About TahoeIX

TahoeIX was started in September 2014 by the operators of Roller Network, with equipment and help from Packet Clearing House, Cisco and the San Francisco exchange. It charges nothing at all — no membership and no port fee — so a participant pays only for its cross-connect at the Roller Network building on Airway or at 200 South Virginia. 16 networks connect over 1GE and 10GE single-mode ports. Two route servers run BIRD on AS63212, the exchange's own ASN, with BGP communities for selective announcement.
