Amazon opened the north half of its Indiana Enterprise Center campus on 29 October 2025, and what runs there is unusually specific for a hyperscale site: the buildings were dedicated to training and serving Anthropic's models. Nine of them stand on the IEC-2 lot in Olive Township, between New Carlisle and South Bend, each about 216,000 sq ft and 35 feet tall, with first power taken in January 2025. Indiana Michigan Power, an AEP subsidiary inside PJM, is the supplying utility; AEP is building two 345 kV substations, Larrison Drive and New Prairie, and upgrading its Olive station at a cost near $185m, targeting about 1.1 GW of service by December 2026. The town of New Carlisle supplies water, South Bend takes the sewage and NIPSCO the gas. St. Joseph County Council approved a ten-year abatement of half the real property tax across three parcels totalling 870 acres in August 2024, on an announced $11bn investment and at least 1,000 jobs, with roughly $12.5m a year of property tax projected once the abatements run off.
