Arelion (AS1299), formerly Telia Carrier, operates a Tier 1 IP backbone over roughly 80,000 km of its own fibre, with more than 350 points of presence and customers in 129 countries across Europe, North America and Asia. Its network services include IP transit, dedicated Internet access, Ethernet, Smart IP VPN, wavelengths, optical fibre, cloud connect and DDoS mitigation.

AS1299 is present in carrier-neutral facilities across all three regions and reaches 95% of North American and European end users within a single network hop, which is what makes it a common first choice for primary transit in a new cabinet. IP transit is sold on 1G, 10G, 100G and 400G ports with native dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6, and Ethernet scales from 10 Mbps to 400 Gbps over the same backbone — so a colocation customer can take Internet transit and point-to-point capacity between sites without adding a second supplier.
