Cogent Communications (AS174) operates a global Tier 1 IP backbone reaching 305 metropolitan markets in 57 countries, with 3,579 buildings and 1,715 carrier-neutral data centres directly on-net. Its network services include IP transit, dedicated Internet access, Ethernet and MPLS IP VPN, optical wavelengths and transport, alongside colocation in the 187 data centres Cogent operates itself.

That data centre footprint makes AS174 widely available as an on-net carrier outside Cogent's own buildings as well. IP transit runs from 100 Mbps on Gigabit Ethernet through 400 Gbps on 400GbE, with BGP or static handoff and native dual-stack IPv6 on the same port, so a colocation customer can take Internet transit and private or optical transport from one supplier at anything from a single rack to a full cage.
