Edgio, formerly Limelight Networks (AS22822)

AS22822 was Limelight Networks, later Edgio, and it is no longer an operating network. Edgio filed for bankruptcy protection in September 2024; Akamai bought customer contracts and patent licences that December explicitly without the network, the personnel or the technology; and the delivery platform was shut down on 15 January 2025. The autonomous system announces no routes and has no neighbours, and the last prefix seen from it anywhere was in May 2025.

It still appears in colocation carrier lists because facility presence in the public peering registry is self-declared and was never withdrawn — those entries describe a footprint built between 2010 and 2024 whose equipment was removed during the liquidation. There is nothing to cross-connect to and no operating company behind the number. Customers that Edgio served were migrated onto Akamai's own systems, and the former EdgeCast side was sold separately and relaunched at much smaller scale. A listing for this network should be read as history rather than as an available connection.
