About BrestIX
BrestIX is the interest grouping for data exchange of Brest métropole in western Brittany, marketed locally as a short circuit for regional data. The initiative was launched in September 2016 and the operating association was formally constituted in early 2018, with nine founding companies alongside Brest métropole, Investir en Finistère, the metropolitan chamber of commerce and the Technopôle Brest Iroise. Equipment sits on three connection sites interlinked by the métropole's own fibre network; the operator gives the count but not the buildings. The peering LAN is 185.1.149.0/24, a RIPE exchange assignment, with no IPv6 deployed.
