About MIX MNDC

MIX is Mongolia's national exchange, run by the National Data Center, the state-owned enterprise responsible for government data storage and e-government infrastructure, established by government resolution in June 2009. The operator describes it as the fabric that lets Mongolian providers exchange domestic traffic among themselves without leaving the country. The switching platform is named on the operator's own page as a Cisco Nexus 7010 with copper and optical gigabit modules, 10 Gbps modules and a supervisor. Joining is administrative rather than commercial: an applicant submits a written request backed by authorisation from the telecommunications authority. Eight networks connect over 91 Gbps.
