About MOZIX

MOZIX is Mozambique's national exchange, established in May 2002 to stop domestic traffic being exchanged abroad, and hosted and administered at CIUEM, the computing centre of Eduardo Mondlane University in Maputo. It started with five members and now carries eighteen, operating on what the operator calls a gentleman agreement to exchange traffic on equal terms. All three of the country's mobile operators, the fixed incumbent, the national research network and the university itself are on the fabric, alongside PCCW Global and AFR-IX Telecom. The peering LAN is 196.223.33.0/24 with 2001:43f8:930:cafe::/64, and Packet Clearing House route collectors are present under both of its autonomous systems.
