An AI training and inference campus is going up in the Visulahti industrial zone on the eastern side of Mikkeli, in Finland's South Savo region. The developer is Compute Nordic Finland Oy, registered in the city on 12 April 2024 and headed by Harald Riise, who also sits behind the group's UK parent. NYAB Finland Oy took the project-management contract on 18 February 2026, with a scope covering two data halls of 100 MW each plus the high-voltage connections and substation works that feed them, at a construction value the contractor puts at as much as EUR 100 million. Construction permits were approved and power agreements executed by early January 2026, and earthworks were expected to start that March. A second plot of municipal land was bought in February 2026. Compute Nordic has said the campus will take customers from NATO member countries only.
