Google named the site itself: Sime Darby Property's Elmina Business Park at Sungai Buloh, in the Selangor half of Greater Kuala Lumpur, is where its first Malaysian data centre is going up. The US$2 billion commitment - RM9.4 billion - was announced on 30 May 2024 and covers both the building and the Malaysia Google Cloud region it anchors, with government projections attached to it running to 26,500 jobs and RM15 billion of GDP by 2030. Sime Darby Property developed the park and hosted the groundbreaking, which the Prime Minister officiated. Grid supply comes from Tenaga Nasional Berhad, and two 29.99 MW TotalEnergies solar projects are contracted to serve Google's Malaysian load from 2026 and 2027. Phase one was targeted to be operating in early 2026. No floor area, building count or capacity figure has been published.
