Equinix MI3 is a single-story reinforced-concrete data center at 4680 Conference Way South, Boca Raton, 44 miles north of Miami, opened on 3 December 2012 as a 31,300 sq ft site outside the hurricane evacuation zone for storms up to Category 5 and beside several subsea landing stations, with GlobeNet offering the lowest-latency route to Brazil from here. Colocation is 18,998 sq ft on 250 psf floors, cabinets start at 4 kVA on 120/208 V, UPS and generators are N+1 with 30 hours of fuel at full load, and cooling is N+1 with hot/cold aisle containment. MI3 holds LEED in addition to its ISO, SOC, PCI and HIPAA attestations, which MI2 and MI6 do not. Allied Fiber, Cogent, FiberLight, Inteliquent, Neutrona, Sidera and tw telecom were the opening-day customers, and 15 networks with two internet exchanges are registered here today. Secure Cabinet Express, private cages and antenna space are sold here, with biometric entry and free parking beside the building.
