The Culpeper Campus is Equinix's four-building secure site at 18155 Technology Drive, Culpeper, Virginia, Buildings A through D sold as CU1 to CU4, 60 miles from Washington, D.C. and roughly 55 miles south of Ashburn. It opened in June 2008 as Terremark's NAP of the Capital Region, passed to Verizon as IAD3, and became Equinix property on 1 May 2017; since 2018 it has been the hub of Equinix Government Solutions. The land grew from a 30-acre parcel to nearly 60 acres by 2015, laid out by Terremark with a 150-foot setback, earthen berms, a 10-foot fence, pop-up vehicle barriers and a separate reception building. Today Equinix runs a dedicated Security building, biometric entry, mantraps and recorded 24/7 surveillance, and guarantees 99.999% uptime across every Culpeper hall. The four published colocation floors sum to 199,875 sq ft, sold as Secure Cabinet Express, private cages and high-density cooling, tied together by Campus Cross Connects, Equinix Fabric and the Internet Exchange.
