SBA Edge Chicago is an 80,000-square-foot carrier-neutral colocation data center on 5.8 acres at 603 Discovery Drive, West Chicago, Illinois, operated by SBA Edge, the data-center arm of SBA Communications. The site was developed and originally run as New Continuum Data Centers; New Continuum acquired it in January 2019 and SBA Communications purchased the operation in September 2019. The facility hosts the United IX (United Internet Exchange), providing peering to 40-plus networks, alongside eight-plus direct fiber providers and direct cloud on-ramps to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Infrastructure includes roughly 10 MW of power with N, N+1, and 2N redundancy options and about 2,800 tons of cooling. Security includes bullet-resistant biometric mantraps and 24/7/365 staffing. The site is PCI, SSAE 18, and HIPAA compliant, offering cabinets, cages, and private suites.
