Operated by SBA Edge (SBA Communications), it was acquired as the JaxNAP carrier hotel in August 2020, becoming SBA's second data center after Chicago. The building is a key subsea interconnection point, serving as a landing and backhaul hub for the AMX-1, PCCS (Pacific Caribbean Cable System), and CONFLUENCE-1 submarine cables, and acts as a gateway for Latin American and Caribbean traffic. It houses 20-plus international and regional fiber carriers and the Jacksonville Internet Exchange (JXIX), whose peers include Google and Akamai. Infrastructure includes roughly 2 MW of available IT power (up to 14 MW site capacity, with redundant 2.5 MW Caterpillar generators), a 1,500-ton 45F chilled-water loop, and N, N+1, and 2N configurations. The site is PCI, SSAE 18, and HIPAA compliant.
