Yahoo (AS10310) is the content network of a private company controlled by Apollo Global Management, which bought 90% of what was then Verizon Media in 2021 and restored the Yahoo name, leaving Verizon with the remaining tenth. What rides it is the consumer portfolio — Mail, Search, Finance, Sports and News — together with the advertising platform behind them.

Two things about this network are commonly out of date elsewhere and are worth stating plainly. The portfolio has been shrinking by sale rather than by decline: TechCrunch went to Regent in March 2025 and AOL was agreed to Bending Spoons in October 2025, so neither should be assumed to sit behind this number any longer. And Yahoo is not in the content delivery business and has not been since it sold Edgecast to Limelight in 2022 — what happened to that business afterwards has nothing to do with this system. Yahoo delivers primarily from its own edge, and it will only build private interconnects at 10 and 100 gigabit, with sessions required on both addresses at dual-router exchanges.
