About NL-ix 2

NL-ix 2 is a second peering LAN of NL-ix, addressed independently of the main fabric on 185.1.122.0/24 and 2001:7f8:cd::/48 and served by its own route servers under AS42604, which the operator publishes alongside the AS34307 route servers of the main LAN. Both run a payload MTU of 1500, so frame size is not the difference between them — addressing, route servers and reach are. This LAN is Amsterdam-only, across four buildings. Thirteen networks connect over 22 ports and the fabric carries 8.3 Tbps, because the membership is small in number and very large per member: KPN holds 2.4 Tbps on each of two connections, with Akamai at 500G and Fastly and Meta at 400G apiece.
