About PIT entel

PITentel is Entel's own traffic-exchange point, operating under the Chilean telecoms regulator's Technical Standard Resolution 698 of 30 June 2000, which requires ISPs to interconnect domestic traffic at an exchange point. It runs from Entel's national telecommunications centre in Santiago and still offers 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps hand-offs alongside Gigabit Ethernet. There is no route server: a connecting ISP must hold an ASN registered with LACNIC and run BGPv4 bilaterally. The operator publishes its direct interconnections to the other Chilean exchange points alongside its ISP connections.
