427 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL, 60605, US
CH1 is CoreSite's 180,000 sq ft data center in the former Western Union telegraph building at 427 South LaSalle Street, beside the Chicago Board of Trade in the financial district. A ComEd-coordinated upgrade added 10 MW and took the building to 16 MW, fed by three underground feeds from the downtown grid, with four 2 MW rooftop generators and 510 tons of chillers. CoreSite completed 20,000 sq ft of new colocation here in June 2009 with 2N generator backup and N+1 UPS and cooling. 74 networks and six exchanges meet in the building: DE-CIX Chicago, ChIX, QCIX, MegaIX Chicago, Chicago Open Pipes and Any2Chicago, with on-site on-ramps to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and Oracle through the Open Cloud Exchange. CH1 is audited for SOC 1 Type 2, SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and HIPAA and carries a 100% uptime SLA. Quarter cabinets through private suites are sold here, with dark fiber to CH2 two miles west.
