Alchemy Downtown Data Center
1200 West 7th Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90017, US
Alchemy Communications operates a retail colocation facility inside the West 7 Center (Garland Building) carrier hotel at 1200 West 7th Street, Los Angeles, California. The roughly 22,000-square-foot space sits below ground level, an underground vault-style environment seismically engineered to withstand an 8.3-magnitude earthquake and able to run islanded from city power and water for up to 28 days. Backup power comes from a 4,000-amp battery plant and four 1.5 MW diesel generators; cooling uses redundant self-contained chilled-water systems in an N+1 configuration over raised floors, with dry-pipe fire suppression. As a tenant of one of Los Angeles's major interconnection buildings, Alchemy (AS7296) reaches a dense carrier ecosystem and peers on the CoreSite Any2 exchange. Products include cages, private and partial cabinets, remote hands, bare metal, and public cloud. Security features 24/7 on-site staff, biometric scanners, and CCTV surveillance.
