84 MW

CloudHQ's Dutch scheme is one multi-storey building rather than a spread of several, planned for 84 MW of critical IT load inside 49,600 m2 - 533,890 sq ft - on the Aviolanda strip at Rozenburg, in the Haarlemmermeer municipality east of Schiphol. Power is already contracted, to arrive in a diverse configuration from the new A4 Zone substation. The developer gives readiness for service as within 22 months, with the whole 84 MW still uncommitted. Its neighbour on the same strip is an operating hyperscale facility, which is what CloudHQ means when it describes the site as adjacent to one. Local policy is the thing to watch: Haarlemmermeer restricts hyperscale development beyond 10 hectares and beyond 70 MW, and this project's stated load sits above that line. Nothing has been built.

Frequently asked questions

How big is CloudHQ's Rozenburg building as planned?
One multi-storey building of 49,600 m2 - 533,890 sq ft - carrying 84 MW of critical IT load.
Where will the Rozenburg site draw its power?
From the new A4 Zone substation, under a supply CloudHQ describes as already contracted and configured for diversity.
What does Haarlemmermeer's hyperscale policy mean here?
The municipality restricts hyperscale development beyond 10 hectares and beyond 70 MW. The scheme is planned at 84 MW, so it sits above the threshold.
What stage has the Amsterdam-area project reached?
Design and power contracting. CloudHQ states readiness for service within 22 months, and no Haarlemmermeer permit has been published for it while three competing projects' permits have.
