Meta Prineville – Building 3
800 SW Connect Way, Prineville, OR, 97754, US
Prineville was Meta's first custom-built data centre anywhere, and the third building on the 735 SW Connect Way campus was announced in June 2014, midway through a build-out that now runs to eleven buildings and nearly 4.6 million sq ft. Ground was broken in Crook County in 2010 and the first halls came online in 2011. Later buildings average around 450,000 sq ft, so this one predates the larger standard footprint. Meta has spent more than $2 billion at Prineville and publishes no per-building floor area or capacity. Cooling draws on wells kept apart from Prineville's municipal supply, and withdrawal peaked at 117.5 million gallons in 2020 before falling; Meta and Apple together funded the town's aquifer storage and recovery scheme, which banks winter water for summer use.
