Microsoft's Mecklenburg County estate runs to half a dozen separate holdings, and the Ridge Road one - north of Route 58 where it meets Ridge Road outside Boydton - is the tract the Army Corps permitted in May 2021 under NAO-2021-01135, covering 335.38 acres. The county had already put 1,152,704 dollars into rebuilding Ridge Road for the project back in December 2014. Construction there drew a Virginia DEQ notice in June 2023 against the contractor Walbridge Aldinger over stormwater. Dominion Energy Virginia supplies the area, and a February 2022 filing at the State Corporation Commission for a 230 kV conversion describes both a Ridge Road Junction and the Boydton delivery point. Microsoft identifies its buildings in this county by AVC and LVL codes rather than by street - AVC17 and AVC22 in the federal filings, LVL at 960 Prison Road - and in June 2026 it lodged a further Corps application for a 490-acre, three-building expansion south of Highway 58 near Panhandle Road.
