Raiffeisen Rechenzentrum sells housing as a named service line from Raiffeisen-Platz 1 in Raaba-Grambach, south-east of Graz, alongside managed servers, virtual data centres, SAP hosting, backup and storage. The technical floor runs to about 4,500 m2 over several server rooms with room for more than 10,000 servers, inside a micro-reinforced concrete structure; racks open front and rear on electronic access media issued per customer. Cooling draws on well water, geothermal probes, free cooling and adiabatic cooling, with cold-aisle containment the operator credits for roughly 30 per cent of the cooling energy. Two diesel generators hold 100,000 litres between them for 72 hours of autonomy, bridged by a UPS with a thirty-minute battery, and some 12,000 litres of nitrogen stand behind fire suppression. CIS - Certification & Information Security Services certified the site to EN 50600 Design under the name Raaba Primary Data Center (Bauteil 06); ISO/IEC 20000 dates from 2010, ISO/IEC 27001 from 2011 and ISO/IEC 27018 from 2017.

Frequently asked questions

Does RRZ sell to customers outside the Raiffeisen group?
Yes. Housing is one of its published service lines, sitting alongside managed server, virtual data centre, SAP hosting, backup and storage.
Which certification covers the Raaba data centre?
EN 50600 Design, issued by CIS - Certification & Information Security Services for the site named Raaba Primary Data Center (Bauteil 06). That is a European facility standard rather than an Uptime Institute award, and RRZ holds no Uptime certification.
How long can the Raaba site run without utility power?
72 hours, on two diesel generators sharing 100,000 litres of fuel, with a thirty-minute UPS battery bridging the start.
How large is the technical floor at Raiffeisen-Platz 1?
About 4,500 m2 across several server rooms, with capacity for more than 10,000 servers.
How is the Raaba data centre cooled?
Well water, geothermal probes, free cooling and adiabatic cooling, with cold-aisle containment the operator credits for about 30 per cent of its cooling energy.
