Southern Telecom Atlanta
270 Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA, 30303, US
Southern Telecom Atlanta occupies 270 Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, operated by Southern Telecom, Inc. (STI), a Southern Company subsidiary. The retail colocation facility offers roughly 5,400 square feet of space in suites, cages, and cabinets, with cross-connects onto STI's owned dark-fiber and conduit ring linking Atlanta's major carrier hotels. Power is delivered via a dedicated 480V three-phase feeder from Georgia Power's underground network plus a 4,800-amp DC plant, backed by a -48V battery system rated for 8-12 hours and a dedicated 250 kW natural-gas standby generator. Cooling totals 30 tons using airflow and Liebert units with additional backup capacity, and an FM-200 system provides fire suppression. In 2019 GigSouth (AS2728) selected the facility as its network hub. Georgia Power's operations center monitors all building systems, and remote-hands support is available onsite for tenants.
