The Information Technology Center at 2520 Correa Road holds 8,000 sq ft of data centre inside a 74,000 sq ft, six-storey building on the University of Hawaii's Manoa campus in Honolulu. Its core structure is hardened against Category III hurricane winds of 111 to 129 mph and against wind-borne projectiles, which counts for more here than it would on the mainland. Ground was broken on 2 February 2012, the building was dedicated on 16 December 2013, and around 260 ITS staff moved in on 27 January 2014. It serves all ten University of Hawaii campuses. Use is open to university departments and researchers only, on an internal chargeback of $125 a year for a single rack unit or $3,700 a year for a whole 40 RU rack.
