Datagroup opened a new Kyiv data centre in the third quarter of 2024, and the specification reads as a wartime document. The hall draws a pair of 1 MW supplies, each taken from a different DTEK substation; four AKSA generators of 368 kVA run N+1 with at least 72 hours of fuel autonomy; and the machine hall is a semi-basement room under as much as a metre of reinforced concrete. That hall runs to about 300 m2 and takes more than 100 telecom cabinets. Schneider Electric Galaxy VL and Eltec Flatpack2 UPS plant sits in N+1, and two separate fibre entries reach the building, one of them carrying a guest optical splice so a customer can bring its own ISP. Thirteen networks and the DTEL-IX exchange are carried at Datagroup's Kyiv interconnection address on vulytsia Simyi Brodskykh, and the operator sells direct optical links to UA-IX, GIGANET, G-50 and I-IX. The TIER III and TIA-942 language it uses describes the design standard, not an award.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Kyiv hall hold power through an outage?
Two independent 1 MW feeds from different DTEK substations, four 368 kVA AKSA generators in N+1 with at least 72 hours of fuel, and N+1 UPS plant from Schneider Electric and Eltec.
What protects the Datagroup hall physically?
It is a semi-basement room beneath up to a metre of reinforced concrete, served by two separate fibre entries into the building.
Which exchanges can be reached from Datagroup's Kyiv site?
DTEL-IX sits at the interconnection address alongside thirteen networks, and the operator sells direct optical links to UA-IX, GIGANET, G-50 and I-IX.
What does the TIER III reference on Datagroup's page mean?
It names the design standard the hall was built to, together with ANSI/TIA-942. No Uptime Institute award has been issued for any facility in Ukraine.
Can a customer bring its own ISP into the hall?
Yes. One of the two cable entries carries a guest optical splice for exactly that.
