Power capacity
563 MW

Bitdeer's Rockdale site occupies part of the old Alcoa aluminium smelter in Milam County, Texas, and has run as a bitcoin mine since 2019 at 563 MW of total power capacity, around 40 per cent of it carbon-free. Demolition for a 100 MW hydro-cooling conversion began in August 2024; energisation started in March 2025 and the conversion was fully energised that September. Bitdeer is redesigning the site for AI workloads while mining keeps the revenue running, and said in April 2026 it was in active dialogue with tenants. Riot Platforms runs a separate 700 MW campus at Rockdale.
