LA2 fills the former United States Post Office Terminal Annex at 900 North Alameda Street, a 1940 building that processed the city's mail before its conversion, and at 432,000-plus square feet it is the largest data center CoreSite operates in Los Angeles. Utility power arrives at high voltage for rate efficiency, with N+1 redundancy across UPS, PDU, RPP, generators and mechanical plant, and 24 hours of diesel on site backed by more than one refueling contract. The cooling design is the genuinely distinctive part: a centralized N+1 chiller plant with evaporative cooling towers on a water-side economizer, variable-speed CRAHs and steam-canister humidification - an architecture CoreSite uses at neither LA1 nor LA3. Space is sold as powered shell, infrastructured shell or turn-key, from partial cabinets up to build-to-suit, and liquid cooling is available.
