That substation, behind 41,310 square feet of IT space on 4.3 megawatts, a 2N power design and 25 kW+ liquid-cooled cabinets, is what separates it from an ordinary suburban site: utility capacity is delivered to the building rather than shared through a district feed. Forty carriers are on net. Richardson holds one of the densest concentrations of telecommunications engineering in the United States, and the fiber routes that follow it are the reason a building here carries a carrier count usually seen downtown.
