EdgeConneX bought 270 acres at 9850 Innovation Campus Way in the New Albany International Business Park for $137.2 million in early 2025, and is building its first Ohio data centre there, in Licking County. The programme totals 1,225,000 sq ft: the first phase converts an existing 524,525 sq ft warehouse, targeted for completion in April 2026, and the second adds a new two-storey building of 700,000 sq ft with substantial completion set for the third quarter of 2027. Power comes first from the site itself. The PowerConneX New Albany Energy Center, an 80,000 sq ft gas-fired plant occupying about 48.6 of the 270 acres, took its certificate from the Ohio Power Siting Board on 22 July 2025 under case 25-90-EL-BLN; construction began that September, the first engine set is expected to run in September 2026 and the plant to reach full commercial operation in February 2027. EdgeConneX puts the plant at up to 140 MW and the city filings at 120 MW. AEP Ohio is the utility partner receiving infrastructure relief.

The warehouse conversion is targeted for April 2026 and the new building for substantial completion in the third quarter of 2027. The energy centre is due in full commercial operation in February 2027.
