HER1 sits at Epsilon and Theta Street in Heraklion and is Digital Realty's only building on Crete, roughly 320 kilometres from the Koropi campus and a genuinely separate market rather than an Athens annexe. It went live in April 2025 as the island's first carrier-neutral facility, built as two 500 kW prefabricated data halls with matching prefabricated power modules — about 1 MW of IT load in 5,780 sq ft (537 sq m). Uninterruptible supply here is 2N, with the cooling plant at N+1. Its certification set is unusual for this operator in Greece: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and ISO 22301, the business-continuity standard, which no mainland Greek hall publishes. Supply is fully renewable.
