Sandvikens kommun sold Microsoft 64 hectares at Tuna in late 2018 for SEK 124 million, and the building permit that followed in September 2019 covered about 23,000 m2 of data hall and service buildings. The site was working by June 2024. Vattenfall Eldistribution feeds it through a new Tuna station; the 130 kV line onward to Stackbo was still waiting on an airspace clearance at Rorberg in mid-2026. Around 60 jobs were expected when the permit was issued.
