ADA Tokyo West 1
1 Chome 16-2, Karakida, Tama, 206-0035, JP
Tama City, 34 km west of central Tokyo, is where Ada Infrastructure has put a 50 MVA substation of its own on land it owns, dual-fed from TEPCO. Tokyo West 1 is planned as three seismically isolated buildings totalling around 30,000 m2 of gross floor area and 31 MW of IT load. The first, TKW1-1, is a three-storey structure of about 8,700 m2 on a 5,400 m2 site holding two data halls of 2,500 m2 and 5 MW each; construction began in August 2023 and the first hall was customer-ready in May 2025. TKW1-2 broke ground on 28 May 2024 and delivers its first phase in March 2027, with TKW1-3 to follow at 11 MW. Heat rejection is dry, so the design water usage effectiveness is zero, and the annualised PUE target is 1.37. Ares Management bought the platform from GLP in March 2025.
