ACC4 at 44480 Hastings Drive in Ashburn was DuPont Fabros's prototype asset and the first wholesale building it ever leased to 100 per cent, in March 2009. It carries 36.4 MW of critical load — delivered in two 18.2 MW phases and matched by a 36.4 MW feed from Dominion — across 172,000 sq ft of raised floor within 347,000 sq ft. The electrical plant is the largest of its generation on the campus: thirty-two Caterpillar 3516B generators of 2,250 ekW each and thirty-two rotary flywheel UPS units of 1.3 MW, with 200,000 gallons of diesel in four underground stores giving up to 55 hours of runtime. UPS and cooling are both N+2, and the cooling plant runs on reclaimed water.
