QTS Ashburn 3 DC2 at 22271 Shellhorn Road is the second 42 MW building on the Ashburn 3 campus, completed in September 2022, eighteen months after DC1 next door. It was built as an identical twin to DC1 on the QTS Freedom Standard design, with modular power deployment fed from the campus's expandable adjacent substation, dual loading docks and oversized hallways for equipment moves. Its completion took the campus to 84 MW of planned critical capacity across two buildings on 24 acres. Express fiber reaches the building through the redundant campus conduit system, and cooling uses air-side economizers. QTS has released no hall-level square footage for DC2 as it has for DC1. EV charging and leasable customer office space are on campus. Buyers can take halls here or pair capacity across both Ashburn 3 buildings.
