Switch TAHOE RENO
1 SUPERLOOP Circle, McCarran, NV, 89434, US
Switch calls the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center campus The Citadel, and addresses it at 1 Superloop Circle in McCarran, Storey County. The full-build target is 17.4 million sq ft and more than 2 GW; what is installed today Switch does not publish, and seven networks are present in the building. Cabinet density is marketed at up to 2 MW, with a 100 per cent power uptime guarantee, and a dedicated 7 ms fibre path runs south to The Core in Las Vegas over Switch's SUPERLOOP. Power is bought on the open market across NV Energy's wires: Nevada's utility regulator approved Switch's exit from bundled retail service in December 2016 for roughly $27 million, and Switch claims a 100 per cent renewable supply. The Tier 5 Platinum badge on the campus is Switch's own registered rating rather than an award from an outside body, and no Uptime Institute certification is recorded for the site.
