Ground was broken at 3640 Nasseff Way on 5 August 2025, on an adaptive reuse rather than a greenfield: the building is Thomson Reuters' own enterprise data centre from about 1989, on the 263-acre West Publishing campus Ryan Companies bought in 2024. CENTRA Digital is converting 92,000 sq ft, 38,552 sq ft of it raised floor, to 8.1 MW of critical load phased 3.6 MW in Q4 2026 and 4.5 MW in Q3 2027, drawing on 12 MVA from Dakota Electric Association. Four 2 MW generators stand behind the two-storey pre-cast structure already, with four 2.5 MW units planned for 2027, and racks are specified from 10 kW to 150 kW and above on a chilled-water loop that free-cools for about half the year. The City of Eagan describes what is coming as a multitenant retail colocation facility, unusual in a Minnesota wave that is mostly single-tenant or wholesale.
