MIN3 is the largest Cologix facility in the 511 Building at 511 11th Avenue South, twenty-eight thousand square feet in Minneapolis — nearly double MIN4 and triple MIN1 — and it opened in March 2015 as the company's third data center in the city. Across the whole Cologix portfolio only two facilities carry an Uptime Institute Tier III certification, and this is one of them. The award here is a Certification of Design Documents, meaning Uptime reviewed and certified the engineering design to Tier III: a real credential, and a narrower one than the constructed-facility award Cologix holds in Columbus. The plant is built to match, with UPS configurable to N or 2N, generators to 2N, an N+1 automatic transfer switch with isolation bypass, and support from three discrete power grids. Cooling is a 600-ton chilled-water plant with N+1 air handlers and redundant on-site wells. MIN3 also qualifies for the Minnesota sales tax incentive program, which is a real saving on a colocation contract of any size.
