GDC – Silicon Valley SV1 Data Center
1160 Walsh Avenue, Santa Clara, CA, 95050, US
Silicon Valley SV1 is a four-story, base-isolated building at 1160 Walsh Avenue in Santa Clara with 16 MW of critical IT load in 21,000 sq ft vaults of 5 MW, 5 MW and 6 MW, 64,090 sq ft of data floor. Triple-friction pendulum pedestals and viscous dampers let it move up to 32 inches in an earthquake with 60 percent less motion than a fixed building. Two 60 kV feeds from Silicon Valley Power land in an NTT-owned 12 kV substation, two separate electrical systems give N+1 redundancy through 2 MW lineups of paired 1 MW Mitsubishi UPS units, and densities reach 22 kW per rack under fan-coil wall cooling. NTT opened it in April 2021. Three fiber entries and two meet-me rooms host Level 3, Frontier and Wholesale Networks, and SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and HIPAA cover it. Buyers take a 5 MW or 6 MW vault, a suite or cabinets.
