QTS Richmond 3 Campus
3525-3543 Portugee Rd, Sandston, VA, 23150, US
QTS Richmond 3 is a 221-acre campus on the south side of Portugee Road in Henrico County's White Oak Technology Park, master-planned for five Freedom Design buildings, DC1 through DC5 at 3525 to 3543 Portugee Road, and 240 MW of critical capacity when complete. Site work began in spring 2022 on the 200 acres QTS bought from the Henrico Economic Development Authority that March for close to $18 million, with DPR Construction and HITT Contracting building the first 1.5 million sq ft phase under a filing that covered up to four two-storey, 167,000 sq ft buildings. The campus sits one road south of the original Richmond 1 site, where the Richmond Network Access Point lands transcontinental subsea traffic inland. QTS still carries the 240 MW as planned rather than delivered, and the Richmond 3 buildings are the ones to ask about for a full hall or a dedicated building rather than a cabinet footprint.
