GDC – Ashburn VA3 Data Center
21583 Megawatt Drive, Ashburn, VA, 20147, US
Ashburn VA3 at 44245 Gigabit Plaza opened on March 20, 2018 as the first building on NTT's 78-acre Ashburn campus, a 245,000 sq ft column-free structure with 112,000 sq ft of data floor and 16 MW of critical IT load. Six vaults split that load, four at 2 MW and two at 4 MW, each with dedicated electrical and mechanical plant on an N+2 distributed, nine-to-make-eight design backed by eighteen 1 MW UPS modules per 8 MW. Cooling is waterless, with pumped-refrigerant economizers and condensers serving a raised-floor hall, a design VA1, VA2, VA4, VA5 and VA7 do not share. Three fiber entries and two meet-me rooms bring in Cogent, Comcast, FiberLight, Level 3, Verizon and Zayo, with a private ring back to VA1 and VA2. SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, ISO 50001, PCI DSS and HIPAA cover the building. Vaults can be subdivided down to cage scale.
